The Dutch Risk Reduction-Team is planning a mission to Colombia, from 24 May until 1 June (exact dates to be confirmed).
Colombia faces an emergency situation after severe floods in the Cauca River which could lead to the collapse of the Hidroituango dam, which would cause a mega disaster involved an estimated 180.000 people. The Hidroituango dam, currently under construction, is the largest hydropower mega project developed in Colombia.
DRR-Team is looking for 2 (preferably Spanish speaking) experts:
- One expert in dam-contruction;
- One expert in water modelling scenarios, in order to calculate the expected damages that a collapse of the dam could conduct.
Are you one of the experts we are looking for? Please send an email with a brief motivation in your response and recent CV no later than Tuesday 22 May to DRRfirstname.lastname@example.org.
